Milford Oyster Festival sets 2021 date

After a hiatus in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Milford Oyster Festival is back this year, organizers announced. The official date is Saturday, Aug. 21, with a kick-off event the night before.

"We are moving forward with the festival this year, subject to state and local guidelines," said festival president Ila Tokarz. "We are looking forward to getting back to great Milford tradition."

The 47 Annual Oyster Festival will include many features that festival-goers look forward to, Tokarz said. Attractions include arts and crafts on the Milford Green and Main Street, a non-profit area, car show, canoe and kayak races, food and entertainment.

Oyster Eve, the opening event for the annual festival, will take place Friday, Aug. 20 from 6 to 10 p.m. Tokarz described Oyster Eve as "always a great night of fun with live music, food, beer and wine."

The concert lineup will be announced via Facebook.
