Get ready for things to get a little mad in Connecticut this fall.

Four Connecticut cities are scheduled to take a trip down the rabbit hole as an overseas-based gaming company brings an outdoor, immersive Alice in Wonderland game to the streets of Connecticut.

Hartford will have its fun first with a game Aug. 20. More events come to the Nutmeg State when the experience hits Stamford Oct. 15, Danbury Oct. 22 and New Haven Oct. 29.

Children under 16 are free but tickets can be purchased at CluedUpp.com. You’ll need at least two people to play and teams max out at six. Only one ticket is needed per team. Tickets cost $80, but CluedUpp has been dropping occasional discount codes on its social media, including a promo code for half-off tickets.

The app-based game will turn Connecticut streets into an escape-room style version of Wonderland. Players will have to save a lost Alice from Wonderland before she loses her head to the Red Queen.

Teams will use their phones as guides to help “solve clues which just get curiouser and curiouser, take on mad and mischievous challenges, and uncover a dark conspiracy at the heart of Wonderland,” according to CluedUpp’s site. Games run two to three hours and players can start anytime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the day of the game.

The goal is victory for your team, but players are encouraged to dress the part. Prizes will be awarded for best Alice in Wonderland-inpsired outfits, best team picture, best team name, best dog photo (pets are welcome outside) and fastest team.

CluedUpp has brought geogaming — location-based gaming based on outdoor challenges — to cities across the world since 2016. The company takes popular board games and pop culture franchises and turns them into interactive games. Other games have include “Witchcraft and Wizardry” and “Crime Scene Investigator.”

Past events have been known to sell out months ahead.
