The Milford International League 10U District All-Star softball team won their first game of the tournament season with a 6-0 victory over East Haven Tuesday night at Foran High School field.

The win evens the Stars record in pool play at 1-1.

East Haven then retired MILL’s Emily Krauss on a hard grounder to second.

Gracie Brooks, Brianna Madelung and Teagan Garfield each drew second-inning walks and would come around to score on RBI singles by Dawid and Hess giving the Stars a 3-0 lead after two innings.

Tarczali would send East Haven down in order again in the third, with catcher Dawid throwing out East Haven’s Patty Derrico on a bunt attempt, and Tarczali racking up two more strikeouts.

Holding on to a 4-0 lead in the fifth, the Stars tacked on a couple of insurance runs.

Tarczali helped her cause with a leadoff double and would come around to score on Krauss’ RBI single.

Erin Donegan worked a walk and Krauss would later score making it 6-0 MILL.

Tarczali sent East Haven down in order in the sixth with two of her 12 strikeouts.

Dawid starred defensively for MILL, throwing out all three East Haven runners attempting to steal.
