In a Milford Junior Major League Rookie Division match-up versus the talented and experienced Nationals, the young and persistent Braves showed their determination and resilience.
The Nationals are an experienced and well coached club led by manager Adam Stash.
Offensively the Nationals were paced by veterans Jake Stash (three hits, triple), Declan Wywoda (three hits, double), Stephen Witteman (three hits) and Carmelo Nunno (three hits).
Providing sound defense for the Nationals were Patrick Butler, Devin Calvin, Austin Corris, Justin Gentallan and Anubis-Rayne Haborak.
The Braves were not to be overlooked, and although short handed, manager Matt Schoonmaker’s club battled back in the later innings to bat through the lineup.
Leading the Braves at the plate were William LeCuyer (two doubles, two runs scored), Luis Lozada (two hits, two RBIs), Kevin Chen (two hits) and Caleb Jordan (hit).
Providing solid defense in the field for the Braves were Kevin Chen (1B), Logan Harriman (C), Caleb Jordan (OF), William LeCuyer (2B, LF), Luis Lozada (3B, 1B), Ruby Moretti (OF, 3B) and Matthew Sissick (OF, SS).
William LeCuyer was awarded the game ball for his performance at the plate as well as his excellent defense.
