The Milford National Lou Gehrig Little League 11U District All Stars capped off the District 4 tournament with a 6-5 championship win over Max Sinoway (North Haven) on Wednesday night at Roche Field in Orange.

The traditional victory lap taken by the players with the District 4 banner was a fitting ending to a perfect tournament, as the team won seven straight games.

Milford begins state tournament play versus District 2 champion Westport on Friday at McGuane Field in Darien.

“This was a true team title with every player contributing in each game,” head coach Dan Maxwell said. “The boys supported one another and showed a lot of heart and toughness against some talented opponents.”

Milford took the title behind the strength of its bats and solid pitching throughout.

Trey Deitelbaum, Chris Simone and Jack Weber each hit four home runs.  Daniel Maxwell added three of his own and John Neider and Kyle Zarnoch tallied a homer each.

On the mound, starters Deitelbaum, Simone, Maxwell and Zarnoch led the team with Zach Anderson, Luke Karas, and Bryan Vasquez recording some big outs along the way.

Milford’s pitchers only allowed one home run and the team outscored its opponents by more than 30 runs.

Defensively, Milford was led by Brendan Buchner, Brandon Macdonald, Ryan McNellis and Braydon Young.

Maxwell was assisted by Mark Deitelbaum and Rich Weber.

Team members are Zach Anderson, Brendan Buchner, Trey Deitelbaum, Luke Karas, Brandon Macdonald, Daniel Maxwell, Ryan McNellis, John Neider, Christopher Simone, Bryan Vasquez, Jack Weber, Brayden Young and Kyle Zarnoch.
