Milford Bombers prep for tourney

The Milford Junior Major League 8U tournament team has been hard at work the last couple of weeks preparing for  its upcoming tournament schedule.

Following intra-squad scrimmage, infield drills, outfield drills, situational drills, batting practice, soft toss and working off the tee, the Milford Bombers were ready for some live game action.

Under the watchful eye of manager Adam Stash and his coaches, the boys got their wish this past weekend when they took the field for a friendly scrimmage with neighboring Stratford.

Offensively the bats came alive as every player collected at least one hit, and most had two or more, as Milford had plated 30 runs in the five-inning contest

Defensively, Milford showed its savvy and knowledge of the game turning three double plays and making numerous defensive stops.

Milford pitching was able to hold the Stratford squad scoreless in three innings and four runs in total.

At the plate, Milford was led by Declan Wywoda, Jake Stash, Justin Gentallan, William Lecuyer, Alex Rodriguez,  Benjamin Britton, Andre Peterson, Ryan Grzywacz, Jack Thomas, Luis Lozada, Matthew Stevens, Ryan Giambra, Steven Witteman and Matthew Galligan.
