JML Braves meet Yankees in Rookie Division

On a rain threatened Friday night at Bernard Field, the Milford Junior Major League Rookie Division Braves and Yankees were trying to beat Mother Nature and stay dry.

Playing shorthanded, the Braves got off to a slow start at the plate but were able to string the hits together in the later innings.

Leading the Braves offensively were William LeCuyer (two hits, run scored), James Cavallo (two hits) and Kevin Chen and Logan Harriman with one hit each.

Defensively Kevin Chen (1B) and William LeCuyer (2B) were active all night for the Braves. Other defensive leaders were Caleb Jordan (3B), Ruby Moretti (RF) and PJ Fiallos (LF).

The game ball was awarded to Kevin Chen(1B) in recognition of his outstanding defensive play while playing first base.

The Braves will be in action tonight vs the heavy hitting Nationals  at Bernard Field and again on Wednesday, May 21, at Conklin Field. Both games are slated for 6 p.m. start times.
