The Milford Golden Thunder baseball team won its first four games in the 8U Beth-Wood Tournament’s Eastern Division.
The Thunder, out of Milford Junior Major, trailed South Meriden Blue 6-1 before they posted the maximum of six runs per inning over the next three frames.
Lighting it up offensively for the locals were William LeCuyer, Declan Wywoda, Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Giambra, Jackson Gryzwacz, Jack Thomas, Matthew Stevens, Matthew Galligan, Andre Peterson, Ben Britto, Steven Witteman and Cal Wrigley.
The solid defense was led by Witteman, Galligan, Wywoda, LeCuyer and Lou Lozad, as they held the visitors to just two runs over the final three innings for the 18-8 victory.
In a matchup of undefeated teams from the Eastern Division of the Beth-Wood Tournament the Golden Thunder traveled to play Woodbury on July 12.
Fans were treated to a defensive treat for three innings until the fourth inning when Woodbury took command to hand Milford its first loss.
