The Milford 8U Tournament Team defeated Newtown Blue, 17-2, in the first playoff round of the Beth-Wood Tournament.
The Blue Thunder will next play at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, at the Acorn Hill Road Complex in Woodbridge.
Milford jumped out in the bottom half of the first and went ahead 6-0.
The locals received multiple-hit games from Alex Rodriguez, Declan Wywoda, Jake Stash, William LeCuyer, Lou Lozada, Matthew Stevens and Matthew Galligan.
Defensively, Cal Wrigley, Ryan Giambra, Jackson Gryzwacz, Jack Thomas, Andre Peterson, Ben Britto and Steven Witteman were key contributors.
