The Milford National Lou Gehrig Little League, which is the largest baseball Little League in the City of Milford, has eight All-Star teams across four age groups (Coach Pitch, 10U, 11U, 12U).

Between all eight teams, MNLGLL has a record of 14-0, which includes wins against most surrounding towns such as Orange, East Haven, West Haven, New Haven and Branford.

Milford National’s 12U baseball team finished round robin play with a 5-0 record and plays Pop Smith New Haven Tuesday at 5:30 at Ralph Clarkson Field in the District 4 quarterfinal round.

With a victory, Milford plays Thursday at 5:30 against either East Haven or West Haven at Orange’s Old Tavern Road Complex.

Milford National’s 11U baseball team went 5-0 in District 4 round robin play.

They will meet host Branford (115 South Montowese St.) in the semifinals Tuesday at 5:30. The winner plays for the title Wednesday at 5:30 at Orange’s Old Tavern Road Complex.

Milford National’s 10U baseball team clinched the top seed after going 4-0 in round robin play.

The 10U and 11U district teams can go as far as the state championships.

The 12U district team is in the National Tournament to bid for a spot at the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.

The road to Williamsport is a long one, only done a few times by state teams such as Trumbull, Shelton, Fairfield and most recently Westport.

“Baseball being baseball, you never know what the next game might bring,” said Rob Hoxie, co-president of MNLGLL. "But we’re very excited and proud as a league about the tremendous start amongst all our teams.”
