Angels hit way past Tigers, 10-1
The Angels defeated the Tigers, 10-1, as Rich Piscitelli was dominant on the mound going the distance for the win striking out 11 Tigers batters, walking one and allowing only two hits.
The Angels struck first with three runs in the first off the bats of Piscetilli (3-for-3, three runs, RBI), Scott Clark (4-for-4 three runs, RBI), Andrew Janik (two hits, two runs, RBI) and Jason Olexovitch (two hits, two RBI).
The Angels would score three more in the second, two in the forth and two more in the fifth on 14 hits and four walks.
The Tigers’ James Carbone was 2-for-2 on the night with a solo home run to deep center field in the fifth.
Sam Sinisgalli, Tyler Griffin and James Carbone made several fine defensive plays for the Tigers.
The Angels defense was outstanding with Lucas Burgard, Olexovitch and James Dalby keeping the Tigers offense in check.
Clark had a good game behind the plate catching Piscetilli and throwing out a base runner in the second.
