Summer softball titles to be decided
Milford Recreation Department’s varied summer softball league seasons will wrap up their respective campaigns with postseason tournaments.
In Friday’s Coed League playoffs, the top-seeded Beer Bandits (10-1) will play No. 4 GBH (7-4) in one semifinal at 6:15 at Washington Field, while No. 2 Casey’s Crew (10-1) meets No. 3 Colony Stingers (10-1) in the other semi immediately after the first game.
In the Men’s Over 60 Division, Anthony D’s Dinos (8-3) were seeded first followed by Frog Pond Relics (8-3), Gabes/My Favorite Place (7-4), Blanchette Sporting Goods (6-6) and 7 Seas (0-12). The championship game is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Washington Field.
In the Men’s Over 50 Division, No. 1 seed M&H Advisors (11-1), JJM Property (9-2), Hard Hat Cafe (8-4), Astro Moving (6-6), 7 Seas Spectrum (3-8), Back 9 (3-9) and Ale House Seniors (1-11) will compete for the title. The finals are set for Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 6:15 p.m. at Foote Field.
In the Women’s Recreation Northern Division playoffs, top-seeded Subway (12-2) met fourth-seeded V&J Ferrucci Construction (7-7) in one semifinal and No 2 Coppola’s/SBC (11-2) took on third-seeded Mattie’s Service Center (7-5) in the other semi. The final is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 7:15 p.m. at Washington Field.
In the Southern Division playoffs, top-seeded King’s Court Jesters (8-4) played either fourth-seeded Stonebridge (3-8) or fifth-seeded Design Tech (2-10) in one semifinal.
7 Seas (3-9) met AMF Alleygators in the second semi. The title game will be played on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6:15 p.m. at Washington Field.
In the combined Monday-Wednesday Men’s Recreation Division playoffs, Monday’s top-seeded Bert’s Deli (10-3) and No. 4 Viscuso Motors (9-3) met in one semi and Wednesday top-seed Pittstop Seadogs (10-2) and upstart No. 14 seed Junga Electric (6-6) played in the other. Junga, also sponsored by All Phase H&C, 7 Seas and Pala Painting, defeated No. 19 King’s Court, No. 3 Pace Electric, and No. 11 Carp Energy to advance.
In the Men’s Tournament Division, the championship game will take place Thursday at 8:30 at Washington Field. Top-seeded King’s Court (11-1) met either No. 4 Tu Madre (3-7) or No. 5 Anthony D’s Nomads (1-9) in one semi. No. 2 Space Craft (7-5) and No. 3 One Hit Wonders (6-6) will battle it out in the other bracket.
In the Men’s Industrial Recreation Division, top-seeded OSDA (12-0) will play No. 5 ADP (6-6) Thursday in one semifinal at 5:30 at Foote Field. No. 2 Bridgeport Fire (11-1) will meet No. 6 Milford Heat (6-6) in the other semi at 5:30 at Washington Field. The finals are Thursday, Aug. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Foote Field.
