Softball Marathon: Call to rec players to test mettle

Treasured Time, Inc. has paired up with the Bridgeport Bluefish to host the Extra Innings Softball Marathon at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

It begins at 6 p.m. Friday, July 25 and goes over night and through Saturday before concluding at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 26.

To register a team today, or for more information, visit treasuredtime.org or contact Allison at 203-446-1068.

Teams of at least 10 players will each play a one-hour game. Out of the 16 winning teams, the team who scored the most runs will be crowned the champion. Each player is required to raise $50 to participate, but keep in mind, in the event of a tie, the team who raised the most money will be the winner so additional fundraising is encouraged.

The winning team will receive an all-expense paid dinner (including select beer and wine) for 10 at Molto Bene in Ansonia, a night in the Treasured Time suite at a Bridgeport Bluefish game and more. Grand Prize valued at more than $1000.

All proceeds raised from the Extra Inning Softball Marathon will benefit Treasured Time, Inc., a pending 501(c) (3), whose mission is to help parents with life threatening illnesses create a lasting memory with their children.

Don’t play softball? No problem! Anytime during the 24 hours, stop in to the stadium for just $2 to watch the games and enjoy activities including Corn hole, Zumba, DJ’s, raffles and more.

Concession stands will be open Friday night from 6-10 (alcohol sales until 2 a.m.) and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
