Introduction to fishing class

The Milford Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Connecticut Aquatic Resource Education Program, is sponsoring a free fishing class on Friday, April 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 159 at the Margaret Egan Center at 35 Matthew St., off of Naugatuck Ave.

The class is great for parents and children as an introductory to fishing. Ever wanted to try fishing but didn’t know where to start?

Come join Chris DeForge, a licensed and insured instructor to learn about this fun, family oriented and relaxing hobby.

All materials and fishing equipment will be provided. Topics to be presented: Terminology, natural baits, casting, identification of fish, tying knots, care of the catch, cleaning & preparing your fish.

Upon completion of the course, students will have the opportunity to attend a free field trip to try out their skills.
