Bennett Walsh earns gold at National Senior Games
The Bennett Walsh team just returned from the Bi-annual National Senior Games held in Cleveland, Ohio, where they won the gold medal for basketball in the 65 year old and above bracket.
There were 28 teams in this age group from all over the country, including participants who played professionally in the European Leagues, and top 10 Division I colleges.
There were over ten thousand participants age 50 and above entered in just about every possible sport, including horseshoes, bocce, table tennis, softball, archery, track and field, swimming, biking and pickelball.
There were two 90-plus-year-old women in the hammer throw.
Participants and teams must qualify in their local state before going to the Nationals.
The next National Tournament will take place in Minneapolis-St. Paul in the summer of 2015.
