Jubilee Witte recorded his 100th career win when the Foran High wrestling team defeated Xavier High, 43-24, in Middletown on Wednesday to complete its dual-match season with a state-record 35 victories.

Coach Dave Esposito’s Lions won the SCC A regular season title. They will compete this weekend at the SCC Tournament at Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.

Witte’s milestone pin came in the 132-pound class came at the 4:46 mark.

Foran opened the match with three straight wins. Ryan Luth won a 14-3 major decision at 138, Roman Babadzhan scored a pin in 1:22 at 145 and Michael Ross had a 16-0 victory by technical fall at 152 for a 15-0 lead.

After a Xavier pin at 160, Foran put together three more wins.

Noah Hubler had a 9-0 major decision at 170, Qasim Khan won a 10-8 decision at 182 and Colby Stuart earned a 5-2 decision at 195.

The rivals traded wins in the final five bouts, with Luke Edmondson (1:01 pin at heavyweight), Gino Esposito (2:57 pin at 113) and Witte gaining wins for the Lions.
