Wrestling: Dan Ouelette wins title at Invitational
Dan Ouelette won the 152-pound title at the Jonathan Law Wrestling Invitational.
Platt took home the team title, followed by Shelton High, Ridgefield and Fairfield Prep.
Coach Matt Schoonmaker’s Lawmen placed eighth.
Ouelette pinned all three opponents en route to finishing first.
Kris Orsornio was third at 160 pounds. He won by fall, lost to champion Zavion Arroyo from Platt in the quarterfinals, then wrestled back to take third with a pair of wins by fall.
Shane McCourt (two pins) was fourth at 113 pounds.
Troy Anderson had three wins and took fifth at 106 pounds.
Cole Eggersheim was fifth at 170 pounds.
Ireoluwa Opayemi was fifth in the heavyweight Division. Storm Furtado won two matches for Law’s B team in this class.
Kevin Brocksom took sixth at 220 pounds.
Aisaiah Rodrigues had two wins at 138 pounds.
