Foran High took a 9-2 halftime lead and never let up, as coach Brian Adkins’ Lions defeated SCC boys lacrosse rival Sheehan High, 17-7, in Wallingford on Saturday.
Alex Eager scored five goald with two assists for Foran (4-1).
Jonathan DePascale, Drew Perani and Will Vitelli each had a hat trick.
David McLenithan had two goals and Zach White one.
Josh Teller stopped 12 shots by Sheehan (3-5).
Perani had five assists, DePascale three and Paul Mirmina two.
Vitelli, White and Ryan Manning had one helper each.
Law baseball
Jonathan Law upped its mark to 7-1 on the season with a 5-4 win over Daniel Hand from Madison on Wednesday. Kevin Johnson struck out 11 batters and went the distance for his third win.
Jake Rouse had two hits and an RBI. Rob Griswold had a double and drove in a run.
Law lost at Sheehan High of Wallingford, 6-1, on Thursday. Rouse had two of Law’s hits, including an RBI double in the top of the third inning. Sheehan improved to 6-3.
Jimmy Palmer drove in three runs and Tim Maher had two RBIs when Law defeated Guilford High, 12-2, in Milford on April 21.
Evan Carollo allowed four hits in five-plus innings pitched to move to 3-0. Rouse had three of Law’s 13 hits, including a double.
Johnson pitched a one-hitter, striking out five batters, and Law scored a 9-0 road win over Hamden High on April 17. Rich Dow and Dillon Rocha drove in two runs. Rouse had a single and a double to lead Law’s 11-hit attack.
Law scored four runs in the fourth inning en route to a 5-4 victory over visiting Lyman Hall from Wallingford on April 16.
Rouse knocked in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Rocha and Rob Griswold had RBIs and Palmer had two hits.
Foran baseball
Foran defeated Guilford High, 4-2, on Monday.
Matt Alicki pitched a four-hitter for coach Garrett Walker’s Lions (3-6) against the Indians (2-6).
Joe Radecki was 2 for 3, Nick Tuozzolo had a hit and an RBI, and was 1 for 2 with and RBI and RJ Jackson, Josh Mixie and Rob Lynch all hit safely.
Foran lost a split doubleheader on April 19, falling to Amity High 3-2 and losing to unbeaten Fairfield Prep 10-2.
Sam Olsson had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run in the Amity (3-3) game. Tyler Chacho had two hits to back the pitching of Alicki. Tyler Kasuba, Mixie and Tuozzola had one hit each.
Against Prep (6-0), Jackson homered to lead a seven-hit attack. Jackson added another hit and Olsson had a single, a double and an RBI.
Foran boys track
Foran High defeated Sheehan from Wallingford, Fairfield Prep and East Haven on Wednesday.
James Berkovich, Gabriel Haynes, Damont Gee and Stephen Longley won the 4x100 relay (46.7).
Berkovich was first in the 100 (11.6) and 200 (23.92).
Kevin Mastriano was first in the 3200 (10:29) and third in the 800.
Nik Griswold was first in the high jump (6-0), second in the 110 high hurdles, second in the long jump and second in the pole vault.
Dan Anderton was second in the 400 and Jerry Edmond was third in the 800.
Patrick Fitzgerald won the pole vault (11-6).
Zach Cardellichio was first in the discus 94-6).
Steven Cugini was second in the 1600 and third in the 3200.
Claudio Dos Santos was second in the javelin and second in the discus.
Cedrick Lingane was second in the shot put and Dylan Sidenberg was third in the shot put.
