Foran boys track

Foran High boys track team defeated Guilford High, 98-52, on May 6.

Jim Berkovich, Steven Longley, Gabriel Haynes and Monte Gee won the 4x100 in 45.93.

Steve Cugini, Kevin Mastriano, Dan Anderton and Jerry Edmon captured the 4x400 in 3:47.

The Lions swept the 110 high hurdles behind Nik Griswold (17.4), Pat Fitzgerald and Ben Ear.

Anderton was first (55.1) and Joe Buzelle third in the 400.

Cugini was first in the 800 (2:15) and second in the 1600.

Ear was first (48.8), Kevin Aitken second and Matt Jason third in the 300 hurdles.

Junior Dos Santos won the javelin throw (139-9) and was third in the discus.

Vinnie Tran was first in the triple jump (32-6) and Fitzgerald won the pole vault (10-6).

Griswold was first in the long jump (18-3) and second in the pole vault.

Berkovich was first in the 200 (23.3) and second in the 100.

Dylan Siedenburg was second in the shot put.

Cedrick Lingane was third in the triple jump and third in the shot put.

Longley was second in the long jump and third in the 100.

Zach Cardeliccio was second in the discus and Kyle Greenspan third in the 3200.

John Doty was third in the 800 and Mastriano third in the 1600.

Foran boys lacrosse

Foran High defeated Jonathan Law, 19-4, at Law Field on May 8.

Jonathan DePascale had four goals and three assists and Zach White two goals and five assists for the Lions.

Drew Perani, Will Vitelli, Paul Mirmina, Sal Rosa and Joe Bartone scored two goals each. David McLenithan also scored.

Jake Lambert, Liam Oliver, Bobby McGinnis and Vitelli had assists.

Josh Teller made five saves and Gabe Scott one.

Tyler Cavallaro had two goals for the Lawmen. David Patrick and Jason Savisky also scored goals.

Jarrod Butts and Patrick had assists. Paul Johnson stopped six shots.

The Lions improved to 9-1 on the season with a 17-4 win over Wilbur Cross (4-7) on May 12.

DePascale had four goals, Perani four assists, and Rosa tallied three times.

Foran defeated Lyman Hall, 15-2, on May 6. DePascale scored four goals, Perani three, and Mirmina, Rosa and Vitelli had two markers each.

Bartone and McGinnis scored goals.

White and Perani both had three assists and Rosa two.

Lance DiNatale, Lambert, McGinnis, Vitelli and DePascale one each.

Law girls tennis

Jonathan Law girls tennis team defeated Career High of New Haven, 4-3, on May 12. Law is 7-4. Career is 4-7.

Singles: Lianne Maynard (L) defeated Tyla Goodridge 6-2, 6-3; Jada Wilborne (C)  defeated Hebani Duggal 6-0, 6-2; Victoria Contaxis (L) defeated Kim Catubig 6-2, 6-1 and Ellenton Gbanya (C) defeated Kate Brady 6-3, 6-3.

Doubles: Sofya Calvin/Raeven Grant (L) defeated Tahri Patel/Sabrina Soukhoymalay 6-2, 6-1; Suhani Patel/Meeshali Patel (C) defeated Megan Gleason/Emma Shea 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 11-9 (tiebreak) and Sravya Jaladanki/Anna Downs (L) defeated Janelle Cooper/Kyra Catubig 6-2, 6-4.

Foran girls tennis

Foran defeated Sacred Heart Academy of Hamden, 4-3, on May 12. Coach George Noyes’ Lions are now 2-7 on the season.

Singles: Monika Krah (SH) defeated Gabi Verdura, 6-3, 6-4; Sam Giesman-Ginter (F) defeated Jenna Fortunati, 6-1, 6-0; Casey Marak (SH) defeated Shemona Singh, 6-3, 6-0 and Maggie Hughes (SH) defeated Katelyn Stokes, 6-1, 6-2.

Doubles: Anna Levinson/Naagma Timakondu (F) defeated Jenna Tubby/Megan Dwyer, 6-0, 6-0; Jill Raucci/Brianna Marchitto (F) defeated Christine Radwill/Angie Stong, 6-2, 6-2 and Jen Fugal/Val Pozdnyakova (F) defeated Margaret Mirabella/Maria Grandquiste, 6-4, 6-1.

Law softball

Jonathan Law softball team scored a 10-0 victory over visiting Daniel Hand of Madison in a key SCC Hammonassett Division game on May 6.

Coach Melanie Paolini’s Eagles improved to 10-3, and 5-1 in the division. Hand is 9-4 and 3-2.

Madison Murphy had a three-run home run to cap a six-run first inning for Law.

Danielle Gray was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Justine Bannon and Stephanie Cameron each added two hits. Jenna Bernard blanked the Tigers on five hits.

Law  lost to East Haven, 1-0, on May 7. Amanda Leone had the only Eagle hit off Tlia Loda from East Haven (9-4).

Bernard gave up only four hits and an unearned run in the first inning for the Eagles (10-4).

Foran baseball

Foran High baseball team took North Haven into extra innings before losing a 5-2 decision at Ken Walker Field on Wednesday.

Matt Alicki allowed only a sixth inning run in his start for the Lions (3-10) before being relieved in the seventh.

Sam Olsson knocked in a run for Foran in the third inning.

RJ Jackson had three hits, including a double. Josh Mixie added a hit, as North Haven improved to 5-9.

Foran boys tennis

Kyle Lockwood won at No. 1 singles, but North Haven took the rest of the matches to defeat the Lions, 6-1 on May 6.

Singles: Kyle Lockwood defeated Pat LeGates, 6-2, 6-1; Zack Tabak (NH) defeated Dana Xu, 6-1, 6-1; Johannes Eisenberg (NH) defeated Matt Downing, 6-1, 6-1 and Giovanni Petruzziclo (NH) defeated Bryce Ciccaglione 6-3, 6-2.

Doubles: Evan Manemeit/Mike Iovanne (NH) defeated Pat LaPenne/Ryan Harrington, 3-6, 6-4, (10-5); Rees Kamp Liam Sorge (NH) defeated Drew Lenz/Matt Rubenstein, 6-0, 6-0 and Matt Siwek/Janos Kanyo (NH) defeated Pat Lesry/Chris Flynn, 6-1, 6-1.
