Timakondu wins at singles for Lions

The Foran High girls tennis team lost to Branford High, 6-1, on Wednesday.

Singles: Julia Watsky (B) defeated Gabi Verdura 6-4, 7-6 (4); Tally Sepot (B) defeated Anna Levinson 6-4, 6-2; Naagma Timakondu (F) defeated Ellie Bloomquist 7-6 (3), 6-2 and Rachel Krug (B) defeated Shemona Singh 1-6, 6-0, (10-5).

Doubles: Jocelyn Giordano and Maria Quagliano (B) defeated Jill Raucci and Sam Geisman-Ginter 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (5); Jen Hwang and Allie Cerrone (B) defeated Brianna Marchitto and Katelyn Stokes 6-4, 6-3 and Page McNeal and Jackie Wells (B) defeated Jen Fugal and Madison Wong 6-3, 6-3.
