Foran High placed 11th and Jonathan Law 16th at the Southern Connecticut Conference boys Swimming Championship held at Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday.

Fairfield Prep took home the team title, followed by Cheshire and Notre Dame of West Haven.

The meet featured both Foran and Law swimmers taking seconds off their seed times.

Foran’s 200 freestyle relay team placed 10th in 1:31.02, as sophomore Sean Morton, senior James Coon, senior Conor Quinn and senior Andrew Corsi took nearly nine seconds off their seed.

Law’s 200 free relay team of junior Kevin Keramis, senior Sean Ancheta, sophomore Jack Pincus-Coyle and sophomore Jack Gwirtz swam a 1:45.54, 14-plus seconds better than seed, to place 14th.

Corsi was 10th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.17. Morton was nearly four seconds better than seed to take 24th in 1:58.48.

In the 200 medley relay, sophomore Ethan Skuches, Corsi, senior Max Mauro and Morton placed 11th for Foran in 1:50.20. Law’s Gwirtz, Pincus-Doyle, Keramis and sophomore Molly Mercaldo were 15th, nearly three seconds better than seed at 2:02.82.

Corsi was 12th in the 100 freestyle (51.77), followed by Morton 22nd (53.41), Gwirtz (25th (54.47) and the Lions’ freshman Kevin Preneta at 29th (55.13).

Foran’s Preneta, Mauro, Skuches and Quinn placed 11th in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:44.84.

In the 100 backstroke, Skuches was 16th in 1:00.47. Gwirtz was 24th in 1:02.94.

In the 100 breaststroke, Corsi took 16th with a time of 1:05.71 (two seconds better than seed). Preneta was 24th in 1:09.83.

In the 100 butterfly, Quinn was 18th in 59.24. Mauro was 22nd in 1:00.95.

In the 200 IM, Skuches placed 20th with a time of 2:11.41.

In the 500 freestyle, Mauro took 20th in 5:26.65, nearly six seconds better than his seed time.
