Brendan May and Caleb Tondora scored two goals each to lead the Foran High boys soccer team to a 6-0 victory over East Haven on Monday. Luke Tuozzola and Thomas Kummer had the others goals for coach Rick DiStefano’s Lions (2-3-3). Kummer had two assists. Danny Silva, Tondora, May and Eric Haig had  assists. May’s first goal came in the 10th minute, followed in rapid fashion by Tuozzola (12th minute) and May’s second tally (14th minute) Tondora scored goals in the 21st minute, and again in the first minute after intermission. Luca Marinelli and Mark McGeehan combined in net to post the shut out.

Law boys soccer

Jonathan Law prevailed, 3-2, Friday afternoon in a tightly contested matchup with Notre Dame West Haven. Coach Mike Gruber’s Lawmen (3-3-1) got on the board in the fifth minute when Lex Edwards scored his second goal of the season after he converted a penalty kick to give Law a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later Troy Anderson found Jon Vitale to give Law a 2-0 lead. ND got a goal two minutes after when Matt Consorte beat Law goalie Jaden Wywoda far post on a shot. Christian Lombardo evened the game off a free kick. Jon Vitale scored his second goal of the game off a beautiful free kick from 25 yards out to give Law the lead at the end of the first half. The second half both defenses played tough and it ended in a 3-2 game. Law keeper's Wywoda and Majkut combined to make five saves. Will Contaxis had a pair of goals and an assist when Law defeated Amistad Academy, 4-1. Matt Evanko and Cole Zamora scored for a 2-0 lead. Felipe Mourao had an assist. Law was lead defensively by Anderson, Kyle Goglia, Andrew Frenzel and Andrew Hertzog.

Foran girls soccer

The Foran High girls soccer team showed off its balance with a 5-0 victory over Career/Hillhouse. Coach Casey Blake’s Lions (2-3-1) received first-half goals from Rylee Tondora, Tessa Malesky, Sara Portoff, Isabel Morales and Courtney Musante. Musante and Malesky earned assists. Emily Wheaton and Abigail Lucas combined in goal to post the shutout. Foran High fell to West Haven, 1-0. Wheaton had three saves in net.

Law girls soccer

Jonathan Law played Amity High to a 3-3 draw in a meeting between SCC rivals. Coach JD Rhodes’ Lady Lawmen received goals from Samara Thacker, Grace Wootton and Jocelyn Wirth. Wirth had an assist on Thacker’s goal that cut the Amity lead to 2-1 at the half. Kaylee Huber scored three goals for the Spartans, now 5-1-1. Amity led 22-6 in shots. Law’s Jillian Hall had 12 saves. Grace Lodewick had four saves for the Spartans.
