The Southern Connecticut Conference will host its 9th Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Shelton High School.
The competition will begin at 11 a.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $ for students and senior citizens. Children under six will be admitted free.
Seventeen SCC schools are scheduled to participate in the competition in three categories divisions: all-girl, co-ed and exhibition.
“The cheerleading competition has become a very exciting and fulfilling event for the Southern Connecticut Conference,” Commissioner Al Carbone said. “More importantly, our coaches and league administrators have worked together to ensure the competition is a safe and positive experience for all of our student athletes.”
Schools scheduled to compete include: Branford (all-girl), Career (exhibition), Cheshire (all-girl), Daniel Hand (all-girl), East Haven (all-girl), Foran (all-girl), Guilford (co-ed), Hamden (all-girl), Jonathan Law (all-girl), Lyman Hall (co-ed), Mercy (all-girl), North Haven (all-girl and exhibition), Sacred Heart Academy (all-girl), Sheehan (all-girl), Shelton (all-girl), West Haven (all-girl and exhibition) and Wilbur Cross (co-ed).
In addition, Shelton and Branford will have its Unified Cheer teams participate.
Shelton, Branford and Wilbur Cross were winners at last year’s SCC Cheerleading Competition.
