Shelley Mirmina, a senior member of the Albertus Magnus women’s soccer team, has earned first-team Great Northeast Conference All-Conference honors, it was announced by the GNAC league office on Nov. 11.

Mirmina led the Falcons in the regular-season with 10 assists and was third on the team with six goals.

The Foran High graduate holds the single-season program record in assists with 10, and her 15 career assists puts her in a tie for first among the all-time Falcon leaders.

This season, she has registered 22 points on her six goals and 10 assists.

Mirmina scored a three goal hat-trick on Oct. 2, against Mount Ida, and was named the GNAC and ECAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 7.

During the regular-season, she was second in shots with 78.

Mirmina is the only player previously drawing honors from among six Albertus members being feted this season, having been named to the second-team squad in 2012.

Three more former Foran Lions play for the Falcons — junior Taylor Jagoe at midfield, senior Jess Radecki on defense and sophomore Ryan Clark at keeper.

With a 4-3 come-from-behind win over fourth-seeded Framingham State, Albertus Magnus earned its first-ever ECAC Tournament victory on Wednesday, Nov. 13,  and will advance to the semifinal round set to take place in New Haven on Saturday afternoon against top-seeded Roger Williams University.

The Falcons’ earned their 13th victory, which is a program record in wins in a single season and as the fifth seed will face the 19th-nationally ranked Hawks .

Down to Framingham State, 2-0 at the half, Albertus bounced back in the second frame as Mirmina led the charge four minutes into the half with her seventh goal of the season.

Her 18th career tally cut the Rams’ lead to 2-1 in the 49th minute, and the Falcons went on a 4-1 run in goals to advance.
