The Foran High boys and girls cross country teams had a meet at Daniel Hand in Madison on Oct. 1.

Coach Dick Jeynes’ boys came in third overall, falling to Fairfield Prep and Hand, and defeating West Haven.

Captain Tyler Porcello ran under 17 minutes, coming in 5th with a time of 16:53.

Kevin Mastriano followed closely behind with a time of 17:18 and captain Steve Cugini stayed in the top 20 with a time of 17:45.

Coach Shannon Ramsey’s girls came in second overall, losing to Hand and defeating West Haven.

Colleen Chrzanowski dropped a significant amount of time, as the Lion captain came in at 22:28.

Sarah Barrett dropped a minute off of her time and ran in at 22:44.

Hannah Pouliot also placed in the top 20 and dropped over a minute off of her best, coming in with a time of 24:19.

Nearly every person on both teams dropped their times.

The girls met Sacred Heart of Academy on Oct. 3.

It was a short 2.7-mile course, but was very hilly.

Chrzanowski came in 8th  with a time of 20:43. Placing close on her heels was freshmen Pouliot with a time of 21:35.

Senior Megan McCaskill came in 14th with a time of 22:06. Senior Angela Vu finished in 22:24.

Rounding up the scoring group was captain Sarah Dunn with a time of 23:40.

Foran will meet Jonathan Law on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Eisenhower Park.
