Orban wins State Open crown

Brad Orban from Foran High won the State Open boys singles tennis title at the Yale University courts on June 12.

Orban defeated Reid Risinger from Glastonbury High, 7-5, 6-2.
A two-time Class M singles champion, this is Orban’s first Open crown. He lost in straight sets as a freshman.
Orban opened with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Brian Hatcher from Immaculate of Danbury and defeated Alex Rieger from Daniel Hand of Madison, 6-0, 6-2 in the quarterfinal round.
Orban defeated Amity of Woodbridge’s Andrew Ginzberg, 6-4, 4-0 (retired) in the semifinals.
