Milford's Nick Crowle going to Yale

Fairfield Prep football players Nick Crowle from Milford and Tony Fox From Bridgeport will attend Yale University and Fordham University, respectively.

Crowle in the words of one of his teachers, “Is destined for success. His imprint on the Prep football program is a distinct one for both his outstanding performance on the field and for his leadership as a team captain."

Crowle’s outstanding play this past football season as a linebacker and running back was widely recognized, as evidenced in the many post-season awards: Walter Camp All-State team LB; CHSCA All-State team LB; New Haven Register All-State team LB; USA Today All-State Connecticut Team, Defensive Player of the Year LB; CT Post All-Area LB; MSG Varsity All Tri-State Area second team, LB and All-SCC junior and senior years LB.

He was chosen as a captain of Prep’s wrestling team during his junior year and was named as Prep’s Class of 2014 United States Army Scholar Athlete.

Crowle has distinguished himself as one of Prep’s finest students in the class of 2014 in achieving a 3.97 GPA and earning recognition as a member of the National Honor Society.

Active in sharing his academic talents with the community, he is a peer tutor on campus and has assisted in the after-school program at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport.

He took on the challenge of Prep’s Urban Plunge in his junior year and is currently volunteering at the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen in New Haven.

Tony Fox

Fox is a standout performer on both the football team and in the Fairfield Prep school community.

For the football team, Fox was a three-year starter at defensive end and offensive guard. He earned the following awards: CHSCA All-State Class LL DE; USA Today Connecticut All-State DE; and New Haven Register All-Area DE. He is a co-captain of the football team and president of Student Government, where he has been an elected class officer for four years.

Over the last two years, Fox has dedicated several hours per week to serving his community at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport. Their mission is to enrich lives through learning and Fox does this by serving as a tutor in various academic subjects and as mentor to young people of all ages.

At Prep, he has further contributed to the life of the school by participating in numerous spiritual retreats and is currently serving as a group leader on Prep’s Kairos Retreat.
