C.J. Luth and Clay Callahan won individual titles at 138 and 152, respectively, lifting the Foran High wrestling team to a second-place finish at the Class M state tournament at Jonathan Law on Saturday night.

Ledyard High ran away with the team title, scoring 252.5 team points, but coach Frank Peters' Lions finished as runners-up with 153 points, followed by New Fairfield (143), Avon (142) and Branford (132.5). Luth, Clay Callahan, Liam Callahan (second at 106), Beau Garcia (fourth at 160), Zach Hubler (fourth at 182) and Jacob Pouliot (fifth at 113) all qualified for next week's State Open at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.

Law (63 points) placed 15th overall, with Ryan Bannon finishing second at 132 after dropping a 3-0 decision to top-seeded Howard Kilpatrick of Bacon Academy-Colchester.

Sam Rebentisch was sixth at 106.

In the finals, top-seeded Liam Callahan, battling through a shoulder injury, was upset by third-seeded Connor O'Brien of Bacon Academy, 6-0.

Luth posted a resounding 15-0 technical fall over Brookfield's Blaise Boullianne at 138.

Clay Callahan then controlled Ledyard's Brandon Finney throughout their 152-pound final, earning a 6-0 victory.
