The Foran High football team defeated Guilford High, 34-13, on Friday night.

Coach Jeff Bevino’s Lions improved to 7-3 and remain in the hunt for a state playoff berth.

Stephen Longley (95 yards) ran for a pair of second-half touchdowns and Connor Cadrin rushed for 127 yards, as Guilford fell to 5-5.

Foran led 8-7 after one period and 21-13 at the half, before blanking the Indians for the final two periods.

Longley found paydirt from 19 yards out in the third quarter and on a four-yard run in the final stanza.

Joe Nault gave Guilford the lead on a 12-yard run, before Andrew Melendez scored on a one-yarder and Zach White caught Jake Kasuba’s conversion toss.

Sean Deegan’s 22-yard reception and a Sam Olsson PAT made it 15-7.

Nault passed to Antoni Pensa for a 70-yard score to draw Guilford within two points, but Nick Weissauer's one-yard touchdown run extended the Lions’ lead to 21-13 at the break.

Kasuba threw for 245 yards.
