Local teams open state tournament play on Monday

The CIAC has released its pairings for teams qualified in fall sports to compete for championships.

In girls soccer, Jonathan Law (8-6-2) is seeded 16th in Class L and will host No. 17 Bullard-Havens (8-7-0) Monday at 4 p.m. With a win, the Eagles will travel to play No. 1 Suffield on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Foran High (6-6-4) is seeded 20th in Class L and will visit No. 13 Guilford High (10-4-2) on Monday at Bittner Park at 6 p.m.

Lauralton Hall (6-7-3) is seeded 22nd in Class L and will travel to play No. 11 Berlin High (12-4-0) on Monday at 4 p.m.

In boys soccer, Foran High (5-6-5) is seeded 20th in Class L and will visit No. 13 Joel Barlow (6-4-5) in Redding on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Jonathan Law (6-8-2) is seeded 22nd and will travel to No. 11 RHAM (9-6-1) on Tuesday in Hebron at 2 p.m.

In girls volleyball, Jonathan Law (14-6) is seeded 11th in Class L and will host No. 22 Masuk High (9-11) on Monday at 7 p.m.

Foran High (10-10) is seeded 21st in Class M and will visit No. 12 Plainfield (13-7) on Monday at 6 p.m.

Lauralton Hall (8-12) is seeded 25th in Class L and will visit No. 8 Bristol Eastern (13-5) on Monday at 6 p.m.

In field hockey, Lauralton Hall (10-3-2-1) is seeded eighth in Class M and will host No. 9 Newington (9-4-2-1) on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
