The Foran High football team took control of its game with Hillhouse High in the fourth quarter and went on to defeat the Academics, 36-12, in an SCC contest played at Southern Connecticut State on Friday.

R.J. Balado rushed for two touchdowns for coach Jeff Bevino’s Lions (3-4).

Balado’s 1-yard run, an a Joe Radecki conversion kick, extended Foran’s lead to 23-12 in the final period,

Mike Bevino returned his second interception of the game 75 yards for a score and Kevin O’Connor ran for a 2-yard touchdown to complete the scoring.

Balado’s 3-yard run gave the Lions the lead, before Hillhouse answered to make it 7-6 after one quarter.

Stephen Longley, who ran for 113 yards, scored on a 4-yard run and Zach Huber tallied the two-point conversion.

Hillhouse (3-4) put the only score on the board in the third quarter.

Jake Kasuba threw for 189 yards and rushed for 74 more yards.
