The Foran High boys and girls cross country teams ran in the 35th annual Robert M. Neubauer Invitational on Sept. 11.

Competing on the 3.1 mile course, including two steep hills, Lion captain Tyler Porcello came in second for the boys with a time of 19:01 and girls’ captain Colleen Chrzanowski came in eighth with a time of 26:40.

Sarah Barrett, Angela Vu, captain Sarah Dunn and Hannah Pouliot all placed in the top 25 in the 95-degree weather. The girls came in fourth as a team.

Kevin Mastriano came in a strong fifth for the boys, helping them finish second overall.

At the Windham Invitational on Sept. 14, Porcello came in sixth in the Varsity #2 race with a time of 17:27.

Mastriano came in 15th (17:58), followed by Steve Cuginiin 23rd (18:18) and Kevin Aiken in 26th (18:24).

Captain Liam Oliver helped the scoring group by coming in in 33rd place (19:07), while Matt Downing finished 37th (19:26). Matt Tylutki came in 46th (20:16).

Out of eight teams in the Varsity #2 race, the boys came in fourth overall with 90 points.

All of the girls times improved in this race.

Leading Foran was Pouliot, who came in 46th with a time of 25:42 — she dropped nearly five minutes off of her last race.

Vu followed in 49th (26:06) and Dunn came quickly after in 50th (26:12).

Rounding up the scoring positions for the team were Megan McCaskill in 52nd (27:20), Erika Kelly in 54th (29:38) and Priyanka Srivastava in 56th (29:51).

Foran girls finished seventh overall in the Varsity #2 race with 214 points.
