The Foran High girls team took the title, and the boys squad placed second, at the Neubauer Invitational held at Sheehan High School in Wallingford on Sept. 10.
Lily Stiffler placed first overall with a time of 23:16 over the 3.1 mile course for coach Shannon Ramsey’s Lions, who finished with 40 points to upend Sheehan (46), Lyman Hall from Wallingford (69) and Jonathan Law (70).
Hannah Pouliot (24:31) was seventh, Sarah Barrett (24:33) eighth and Erin Dillman (25:12) ninth.
Law’s Marisa Prizio (25:24) was 10th.
In the boys meet, Daniel Hand of Madison (32) edged Foran (33) for the title. Law (99) was third, followed by Lyman Hall (105) and Sheehan (113).
Kevin Mastriano was meet’s best with a time of 17:27 for coach Dick Jeynes’ squad.
Tyler Porcello (17:36) was second, Kevin Aitken (18:25) eighth and Jack Arory (18:27) ninth.
Law’s Jeremy Douchette (17:42) was fourth.
