Lawmen win three matches at Joe Beler Sr. Duals
The Jonathan wrestling team went 3-1 at the Joe Beler Sr. Duals in Milford on Saturday.
Coach Matt Schoonmaker earned his 200th career win with the Lawmen.
Foran High finished first and Lion coach Dave Esposito was presented with the Outstanding Coach Award.
Farmington was second, Waterford third and Masuk High from Monroe fourth.
Stratford High took home the Sportsmanship Award and Red Devil senior Mike LaPia (132 pounds) won his 100th match.
Zach Anderson (106 pounds) went 3-0 with two pins. Rachel Escobar (120) was 3-0 with a pin. Tim Rebentisch (126) was 3-1 with a pin and two 15-point technical falls. Sean Berg (132) was 3-1 with two pins.
Jordan Betz (138) was 3-1 with three pins. Matt Grace (145) was 2-2 with two pins. Dan Ouelette had a win at 145 and Ernest Gonzales had two wins at 152. Joe Coury (160) was 2-2 with two pins. Gunner Malin had a win at 170.
Max German (182) was 3-1 with two pins. Kyle Krois (195) was 2-2 with a pin. Justin Cortes (220) was 2-2 with two pins. Abe Ocak (heavyweight) was 3-1 with three pins.
