Lawmen fall to Governors in overtime
The Jonathan Law football team lost a 27-24 overtime decision to Wilbur Cross in New Haven on Friday.
Mick Murray had a 23-yard field goal to start the extra session, but the Governors’ Stevie Swinson scored on a 10-yard run to give Wilbur Cross (1-1) the win.
Law (0-2) fell behind 7-0, before Nick Casagrande returned a fumble for a score and Murray’s PAT tied the SCC game after one period.
Giovanni Marzullo’s 20-yard run put coach Mark Robinson’s Lawmen in front, and Murray made it 14-7 with his conversion.
Wilbur Cross tied the game going into the half, and took a 21-14 lead in the third quarter.
Law quarterback Tim Maher ran for a 12-yard touchdown and Murray’s PAT made it 21-21, before a scoreless fourth period.
