Lawmen edged out in state opener

The Jonathan Law baseball team lost, 2-1, to Berlin High in the first round of the Class L state tournament on Tuesday.

Coach Greg Simler’s 23rd-seeded team finish the season at 10-11.

Tenth-seeded Berlin improved to 14-7.

Rich Dow had two hits, and Jim Palmer had one and drove in Law’s run in the top of the fifth inning.

Dow scattered seven hits and allowed runs in the fourth and sixth innings.
