Joe Ziebell ran for two touchdowns and Max German sparked a fine defensive performance with a 50-yard interception return for a score, when coach Mark Robinson’s Jonathan Law football team went on the road to defeat Branford High, 27-14, on Friday night.
German’s touchdown, and Mick Murray’s PAT, gave Law (2-6) the lead before Branford (0-8) came back, with Carl Williams scoring on a 57-yard run.
Ziebell broke the tie with a two-yard run and the Lawmen took a 14-7 lead into the second quarter.
Williams scored the equalizer with a one-yard run, but Law’s Tim Maher connected with David Patrick for a 13-yard touchdown, and the locals took a 21-14 lead into the half.
After a scoreless third period, Ziebell’s three-yard run stretched the lead to 27-14.
