The Foran High boys cross country team placed 14th at the Southern Connecticut Conference Championships on the 5K (3.1 mile) course at East Shore Park in New Haven on Thursday.

Kevin Preneta was the top Lion placer for coach Dick Jeynes, as he was 23rd overall with a time of 17:22.

Nathan Garofano followed in 81st (19:25).

Nico Esposito was 86th (19:31) and Michael Melillo 101st (19:59).

Aiden Serra was 107th (20:24).

Roger Bernard was 118th (21:59) and Brett Dumais 121st (23:17).
