Lauralton Hall’s indoor track team competed in the SCC Coaches Invitational on Saturday.
Coach Ellis Gill’s’ 4x800 relay team of senior Abigail Baisley, junior Carly Costikyan, senior Rachel Wywoda set a new school record of 10:22.84.
“The relay placed second out of 14 school,” Ellis said. “They broke the school record of 10:35.7 set in 2017. It was a great way to start the day.
“We also had two girls qualify for states in individual events.
"Senior Rachel Wywoda set a personal record in the 1000 running 3:27.48, which solidified her spot for states.
"In the 600, junior Carly Costikyan ran a time of 1:50.19 to also qualify her for states.
“The 4x200m relay of Lauren Evans, Laura Elwood, Kelly Hufnagel and Kiera Henry also ran a qualifying time of 1:59.47.”
Lauralton has qualified all four relays for states, along with eight individuals.
“On Wednesday, we will compete in the SCC West Sectional Meet,” Gill said. “I look forward to more great performances at this meet.”
