The Milford Indians stunned the East Haven Yellowjackets, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
The Indians (3-3) were in the midst of a two-game losing streak, dropping one-goal decisions to Amity of Woodbridge 3-2 and NFA-St. Bernard 4-3, while East Haven (5-1-1) was off to its best start in years.
Milford goalie John DePalma turned in a sensational effort with 42 saves, as many of the Yellowjackets shots ricocheted off his chest as he stood his ground.
The Indians were clinging to a 2-1 lead at the 10-minute mark of the third period thanks to a pair of goals from Zach White.
That’s when Milford unloaded with three goals in a two-minute span that turned a white-knuckle affair into a comfortable four-goal lead at 5-1.
Robert Buskey, Jonathan DePascale and Will Vitelli scored to turn the tables on East Haven.
