Jessica Ruiz had seven kills, as Law (2-4) upended the Academics (3-3).
Caitlin Prete had seven digs, five kills and three aces in the 25-8, 25-22, 25-14 SCC triumph.
Tarah Kelly had four kills and three aces.


Lawtook game one, 25-22, before losing a 3-1 decision at unbeaten Cheshire High in a Southern Connecticut Conference interdivision match on Sept. 18.

Foran boys soccer
The Lions traveled to Coginchaug for a non-league game and returned home from Durham with a 3-3 draw.
The Lions (1-3-1) scored three first-half goals only to see Coginchaug (3-1-1) rally from a 3-2 halftime deficit.
Rodrigo Saprizi scored unassisted at 3:56 to give Foran the lead and Cedrick Lingane made it 2-0 off an assist from Justin Kassouf five minutes later.
Coginchaug tied things with two goals in a one-minute stretch before Nick LaPenna’s tally off a Sapriza assist in the 22nd minute made it 3-1.
Cognichaug scored at 57:52 to tie the game.
Adnan Redzepagic made six saves.

Terrance Lewis scored a goal off an assist from Bryan Creevy when the Lawmen dropped a 2-1 non-league decision to Holy Cross in Waterbury on Monday.

Briana Grazynski scored three goals when coach JD Rhodes’ Eagles defeated Platt Tech, 6-0, on Sept. 19.
Kasey Butts, Ciara Hayden and Bianca Steffanaqcci also scored for the Eagles.
Emily Romero and Butts shared the win in net.
Law lost to Daniel Hand, 3-1, in Madison on Friday.
Grazynski scored unassisted in the first half.
Romero stopped 12 shots by the Tigers (2-2).
Butts had the tally for Law (1-4) in a 2-1 loss to Guilford on Monday.

Emily Romero stopped 20 shots by the Indians (3-2).
Lauralton girls soccer
The Crusaders played Immaculate High to a 1-1 draw in Danbury.
Morgan Quinn scored at the 55:20 mark in the second half to tie things at 1.
Ali Miles and Sarah Haselkamp had the assists for Lauralton (3-0-2).
Emma McCarthy stopped five shots by Immaculate (3-1-1).
