The Jonathan Law softball team defeated Guilford High, 4-0, on May 5.
Amanda Leone had an RBI triple for Law (9-3). Erin Saley reached base three times and scored two runs. Lena Arnold had one of Law’s eight hits.
Jenna Bernard allowed seven hits, but held the Indians (4-9) off the board.
Danielle Gray and Saley hit RBI singles in the bottom of the fourth inning and Law softball team edged visiting North Haven, 2-1, on May 2. Bernard allowed five hits.
Foran boys track
Foran High defeated Sheehan from Wallingford, Fairfield Prep and East Haven on April 23. James Berkovich, Gabriel Haynes, Damont Gee and Stephen Longley won the 4x100 relay (46.7).
Berkovich was first in the 100 (11.6) and 200 (23.92). Kevin Mastriano was first in the 3200 (10:29) and third in the 800. Nik Griswold was first in the high jump (6-0), second in the 110 high hurdles, second in the long jump and second in the pole vault.
Dan Anderton was second in the 400 and Jerry Edmond was third in the 800. Patrick Fitzgerald won the pole vault (11-6). Zach Cardellichio was first in the discus 94-6).
Steven Cugini was second in the 1600 and third in the 3200. Claudio Dos Santos was second in the javelin and second in the discus. Cedrick Lingane was second in the shot put and Dylan Sidenberg was third in the shot put.
Foran girls tennis
Foran High was edged out, 4-3, by Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden on May 5.
Singles: Gabi Verdura (F) defeated Monika Kran 2-6, 6-4, 6-1; Sam Giesman-Ginter (F) defeated Jenna Fortunati 7-6 (1), 6-3; Margaret Mirabella (S) defeated Shemona Singh 6-4, 6-0 and Casey Marak (S) defeated Katelyn Stokes 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Doubles: Anna Levinson and Naagma Timakondu (F) defeated Lucy Anderson and Megan Dwyer 6-1, 6-1; Christine Radwill and Angie Stong (S) defeated Jill Raucci and Brianna Marchitto 7-5, 6-4 and Megan Gray and Jenna Tubby (S) defeated Jen Fugal and Val Pozdnyakova 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (4).
Foran lost to Guilford High, 6-1, on May 2.
Levinson and Timakondu scored a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles for coach George Noyes’s Lions. Raucci and Marchitto (6-4, 6-4) and Fugal and Madison Wong (8-6) played well at doubles.

Foran boys lacrosse
Foran High took a 9-2 halftime lead and never let up, as coach Brian Adkins’ Lions defeated SCC boys lacrosse rival Sheehan High, 17-7, in Wallingford on April 26.
Alex Eager scored five goald with two assists for Foran. Jonathan DePascale, Drew Perani and Will Vitelli each had a hat trick. David McLenithan had two goals and Zach White one. Josh Teller stopped 12 shots by Sheehan (3-5).
Perani had five assists, DePascale three and Paul Mirmina two. Vitelli, White and Ryan Manning had one helper each.
