Golf: Christina Ludwig part of Travelers Championship
Cristina Ludwig of Milford was excited to hit the links with some of golf’s elite players at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell.
The 15-year-old Ludwig was one of 36 young golfers selected to participate in the Eversource PGA TOUR Player Experience for Junior Golfers at the TPC River Highlands.
In addition to playing with some of the pros, Ludwig and the other chosen participants attended private golf clinics, a Q&A session with the elite players, and a dinner reception.
The Player Experience is part of a collaboration between Eversource, the Travelers Championship, The First Tee of Connecticut and the Connecticut Section PGA Junior Golf Association.
It’s focus is on bringing the game to young people, improving player development, increasing accessibility to the game, and retaining golfers for the future of the sport.
The Travelers Championship has generated more than $33 million for charity since 1952 and donates 100 percent of net proceeds to those organizations.
Last year alone, the Travelers Championship generated more than $1.5 million for more than 140 charities throughout the Connecticut region.
