Girls volleyball: Stamford High wins First Serve title

Stamford High defeated Foran High, 3-1 (25-10, 25-15, 23-25, 25-19) in the girls volleyball finals of the First Serve Tournament in Stamford on Saturday.

Andrea O'Connor, the tournament’s most valuable player, had 18 kills, six service points and two blocks for Stamford (2-0).

Liisa Balzs had 14 kills and 11 service points.

Jayla Wilson had 37 assists, 14 service points and four kills.

Foran’s Lauren Notholt had five kills, 14 digs and 14 assists for the Lions (1-1).

Alyssa Deptulski had 18 digs and Katherine Kiernan had 10 kills.

Emily Ellis (Trinity Catholic), McKenzie Bures (Shelton), Lauren Notholt (Foran), Viktoria Notholt (Foran) Wilson (Stamford) and Balaz (Stamford) made all tourney.
