Girls volleyball: Law advances in states with 3-1 win
The 15th-seeded Jonathan Law girls volleyball team turned back No. 18-seed Berlin High, 3-1, in a Class M first round state tournament match in Milford on Monday.
Coach Stacy Loch’s Lady Lawmen, now 14-7, will visit No. 2 Torrington High (18-2) on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Berlin is now 12-9.
Madi Bucko sparked the Law attack with 18 assists from her setter’s position.
The locals split the first two sets (25-16, 18-25) before winning the third (25-15) and fourth (26-24).
Libero Pam Ellison had 16 digs.
Stephanie Felag, nine kills and three blocks, and Katie Eighmy, with six kills and six blocks, led the hitters.
Berlin’s Cara Wade had 11 kills and six blocks.
