The Foran High girls volleyball team defeated host Plainfield, 3-1, in Class M first-round action on Monday.
Coach Julie Johnson’s 21st-seeded Lions improved to 12-11 with the 14-25, 25-12, 25-13, 25-21 victory over No. 12 Plainfield (14-9).
Foran will visit No. 5 Killingly (17-3) on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Lions’ Lauren Notholt had 28 assists and three aces.
Viktoria Notholt had 13 kills.
Caitlyn Parisi had seven aces.
Plainfield was led by Sarah Jankowski (10 kills, 7 service points, 2 aces), Madison Kelley (8 kills) and Liz Lo Porto (11 service points, 2 aces).
