Girls lacrosse: Law drops overtime decision to Shelton
Jill Ortoli’s fourth goal proved to be the game winner for the Shelton High girls lacrosse team in its 17-16 overtime win over Jonathan Law on Thursday afternoon in Milford.
Ortoli took a feed from Nicole Roberts (five goals, four assists) and scored at 2:25 of the three-minute sudden-death overtime to give the Gaelettes their first win of the season against two losses.
Law’s Olivia Keator scored with 44 seconds left in regulation to draw the Eagles, who once trailed 8-2, even at 16-all. Keator scored four goals, pushing her season’s total to 19 along with 10 assists as Law fell to 1-3.
Rachel Drost also scored four times for Shelton.
Both Catie Rice and Laura Dennigan scored three goals for Law.
