Senior guard Laura Dulin scored 16 of her game-high 18 points in the first half on Tuesday night as the Jonathan Law girls basketball team went on to defeat cross-city rival Foran, 47-27, in an SCC Hammonasset Division game played at Law.

Earlier this year, Foran High coach Bob Asmussen’s Lions got a 44-43 win over Law on freshman Jasmine Lord’s three-pointer at the buzzer.

Dulin, who recently reached the 1,000-point career mark, scored the game’s first four points and had 11 in the quarter as the Eagles, who improved their record to 10-8, raced out to a 17-6 first-quarter lead.

Law, coached by Dan Young, led by as many as 18 points (28-10) with three minutes left in the second quarter and the Eagles were up 29-13 at halftime.

Led by eight points from sophomore Jade Lord, Foran (4-14) was able to trim the Eagles’ margin to 33-19 with a little over two minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Jade Lord led Foran with eight points. Zinnia Hall added six.

Finishing behind Dulin were Jessica Centore with 10 points and Erin Saley with eight.
