Four Lauralton Hall softball players sign with colleges

Lauralton Hall announced that four of its student-athletes signed their National Letter of Intent forms to play softball in college at the Lauralton Hall mansion on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Alexa Dawid of Milford, who will attend Manhattan College and play the outfield for the Jaspers, has been a captain for the Crusaders for the past two years. Dawid has had great success on and off the field. She was named as an All-State player as well as an All-South-West Conference player for the past two years.

Lindsey Spitz of Shelton has served as the cornerstone of the Crusaders’ infield and will play third base at Sacred Heart University. A leader by example, Spitz was named to the SWC’s All-Patriot Division team.

Jackie Brewster of Bridgeport has been captain of the Crusaders’ softball and field hockey teams the past two years.

Brewster, who will play softball at the College of the Holy Cross (Mass.), will switch from first base to outfield in college. She was All-State as a sophomore and an All-SWC player both her sophomore and junior years.

Haley Congdon of Fairfield will join the pitching staff at Ithaca College (N.Y.).

She captained both the Crusaders’ softball and volleyball teams the past two seasons, and has been selected All-State as well as All-SWC.
