The Foran High wrestling team defeated Wolcott Tech from Torrington and New London, and lost to host Ellis Tech, in Danielson on Saturday.
Coach Dave Esposito’s Lions are 15-2 on the season.
Foran opened the day with a 57-22 victory over Wolcott Tech. The Lions won 4-of-7 matches on the mat.
Patrick Fitzgerald pinned in 56 seconds at 145 pounds, Noah Hubler won a 7-5 decision at 160, Ricky Kratzer pinned in 4:27 at 170 and Ryan Luth pinned in 19 seconds at 120.
Ellis Tech took the next match, 43-30, winning the first three bouts to take a 15-0 lead.
Hubler and Kratzer followed with pins before Ellis Tech won four straight, including a forfeit.
Luke Edmondson pinned in 1:40 in the heavyweight division, Will Mauro won by 32-second fall at 106, and Gino Esposito pinned in 3:55 at 113.
Ellis Tech won the next three matches, one via forfeit.
Foran was awarded three six-point forfeits, and gave up one, in winning 44-36 versus New London.
Fitzgerald (9-5 decision), Zachary Cardellichio (3:54 pin at 220), Edmondson (1:27 pin), Gino Esposito (1:57 pin) and Luth (1:50 pin) earned victories.
